Kara Hungate
Kara Hungate is the go-to interior designer for busy professionals and modern families seeking spaces that are equal parts refined, functional, and personal. With over a decade of experience—and a background in fine art, construction, and interior architecture—Kara is the Founder of a boutique design firm known for thoughtful renovations, curated furnishings, and a deeply hands-on approach.
Born and raised in Shaker Heights, Kara brings a local’s heart paired with a global perspective. Her artistic foundation is rooted in a global education and a love of exploration—studying at the International School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture in Montecastello, Umbria, Italy; earning degrees from Cleveland State University, Parsons School of Design, and the Cleveland Institute of Art; and drawing inspiration from travels across Europe and African safaris through Tanzania and Kenya.
Today, Kara partners closely with architects, builders, and trades to create warm, timeless interiors for Cleveland families that evolve with those who live in them. Outside of the studio, she is an active voice in the local arts community—a dedicated member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the Director at Large for the ASID Board. You’ll often find her visiting the Cleveland Museum of Art, engaging in community initiatives, or renovating her 1925 Colonial—always seeking stories to preserve and beauty to uncover.
